Coastal Long Exposures

For these photographs, taken around the coast of Britain, I have employed a long exposure technique; I chose this approach because it simplifies the image: the chaotic, endless shifting of the waves are stilled and the movement in the clouds is captured increasing the sense of space.  The geometry of those structures standing in defiance of the waves is emphasised adding a reassuring sense of balance and solidity to the image.
